Assen, June 22nd, 2023
The legendary TT Circuit Assen hosts the Dutch GP, the eighth round of the MotoGP world championship. The track is nicknamed the Riders' University because of its difficulty and extremely high average speed. Although it has 18 corners, 12 of which are on the right, Assen has several fast changes of direction and a straight only 487 meters long, which every year leads teams to find the right balance between motorcycle and rider.
Last year in Assen, Celestino Vietti sprinted to 4th place and nearly achieved a podium finish with an impressive comeback. The Fantic Racing rider would like to close out the triptych of races by reaping the fruits of the work done so far with his team, having demonstrated his speed in the previous two races.
Borja Gomez returns to wearing a helmet after an enforced break at the Sachsenring, where, following a crash in FP2, he was declared unfit by medical personnel. The Spanish rookie has fully recovered and is ready to face the weekend with enthusiasm.
Celestino Vietti: "Finally, we are in Holland. I like this track more than Sachsenring, where I struggled a bit. It is important to start well from Friday and be consistent throughout the weekend. We came from a good base last year and can do well."
