Fantic celebrates the 'Factory Rally Team back from the Dakar

S. Maria di Sala (Venice-Italy), 6 February 2024

The warm welcome of Fantic employees received in the late morning today the Factory team, returned to Italy after the extraordinary results in the 46th edition of the Dakar held from 5th to 19th January 2024 in Saudi Arabia.

An incredible success for Fantic Motor, the only Italian manufacturer to compete in the world's toughest rally. The company rallied around the three riders who crossed the finish line: Englishwoman Jane Daniels, Frenchman Jeremy Miroir and Italian Tommaso Montanari. Together with them of course were team managers Matilde Tomagnini and Franco Picco, as well as the rest of the team engaged in Saudi Arabia.

The team initially visited Fantic Motor's factories in Santa Maria di Sala (VE), meeting the technicians who took part in the development of the Rally Project, which is not a prototype dedicated to racing, but a vehicle available on the market from the sales network - Fantic XEF 450 Rally.

It was an opportunity to celebrate the third Dakar completed by the Factory Team, with no less than three bikes at the finish line. It was probably the toughest edition in the history of the Dakar from the point of view of the technical difficulty of the tests and both physical and mental stress. It was the Dakar of Jane Daniels, Jeremy Miroir and Tommaso Montanari. The British champion (2 Enduro Women World Championship titles with Fantic in 2022 and 2023), making her debut at a Dakar, was awarded the day's medal as the best interpreter of the "Dakar Spirit" and won the women's category (the only woman at the finish line!).

Jeremy Miroir, also taking part for the first time, was awarded as best rookie, achieving a 23rd place as best result, 31st overall. Tommaso Montanari, on the other hand, distinguished himself for great speed, with an extraordinary 15th best stage result. A success that was also built thanks to a great team spirit shown by the whole Fantic Rally Team.

Mariano Roman, CEO of Fantic Motor, presented a celebrative book to all the protagonists for their work. "I would like to thank everyone who made this project possible, both those who did it in the front line, leading our bikes to wonderful successes in the Saudi desert, and those who developed our project every day with perseverance. It is a team achievement that makes us deeply proud”.
