Fantic Racing Enduro teams 2023 unveiled

Fantic Motor is ready for the 2023 enduro season with two new fierce teams entrusted to the experience and skills of Simone Albergoni and Franco Mayr.

Santa Maria di Sala (VE), February 28th, 2023

It's time to start engines again, set up motorbikes, and get in the saddle, even if this is just a way of saying in enduro. Fantic has unveiled teams and liveries of the 4-stroke and 2-stroke motorcycles with which it will try to defend the two world titles won last year and hunt for new national and international achievements.

The Veneto-based manufacturer will do that with current world champions and a rider returning to competition after a knee injury and with a rookie. In addition, four other riders will join them, ready to jump over rocks and roots.

Fantic presents itself with four riders in the Junior Enduro category and two others in the Youth Enduro by keeping faith in its philosophy of growing young talents.

The new Fantic Racing Enduro squad strongly believes in its project and its competition motorbikes, close sisters of bikes on sale in dealerships.

Team Fantic Racing Enduro

The Fantic Racing Enduro team, for the third consecutive year, is headed by Simone Albergoni. However, the former enduro champion can rely on the confirmed Lorenzo Macoritto, Kevin Cristino, Albin Norrbin, Valentino Corsi, and the new entry Gianluca Facchetti.

Lorenzo Macoritto missed most of the 2022 season in J1, suffering an LCA injury. After a long rehabilitation, the rider from Friuli is promoted to E3, and he's eager to get back in the saddle of his Fantic XE 300.

Last year Albin Norrbin joined Albergoni's team half season, improving race after race, consistently finishing in the top 5, winning the remaining four, and getting third in the world standing. After a more than promising 2022, the Swedish wants to confirm himself at a high level in J2 class.

Gianluca Facchetti is welcome in J1 with the colors of the Fantic Racing Enduro team. Even if he's a young rider, he's familiar with MX tires, the category where he raced until last year, winning in 2017 both the world and Italian titles in the 125 jr class. This year, he will fuel his well-known motivation by tackling rocks, roots, and logs in the J1 with the XEF 250.

Kevin Cristino, current vice world champion in Youth and winner of the 2022 Assoluti d'Italia, will try to put the tires of his Fantic XE 125 on the top of the world podium.

Valentino Corsi joins the Fantic Racing team full-time in Youth after good appearances in 2022.

After his accident at the Italian GP on May 29, Davide Guarneri will debut in a new role: he will remain with the Fantic Racing team as a coach, trying to pass on all his experience to younger riders after more than 20 years of international racing.

He will continue collaborating with the Italian manufacturer as a test rider in parallel, developing Fantic enduro models for production and competition.

"The months of rehabilitation were long and complex, and in the end, I realized I could not return to the same levels of competitiveness – said Davide Guarneri - So, in agreement with Fantic and Simone, I made a difficult decision, but I am happy this way. I will be able to pursue another path, again in the off-road world, putting my experience in motorcycles development and racing at the company's and the team's disposal."

Simone Albergoni, team manager of Fantic Racing Enduro: "We have a good, motivated, and cooperative team. With determination, we are ready to face a long and competitive season. Lorenzo is coming back from a serious knee injury, but he can be competitive again as he was in 2021. Gianluca is my bet; I hope he can grow with humility. I expect a lot from Kevin after last year's misfortune, having much desire for redemption, and he's already proving to be fast. Albin came in mid-season and improved race after race, winning the last four. Finally, I believe in Valentino, a young and hard-working rider.

I'm sorry for Davide, the months of rehabilitation were not easy, but I'm glad he can continue his collaboration with us. His experience will be helpful to the Fantic Racing Enduro team guys."

Team JET Fantic Racing Enduro

Franco Mayr continues his partnership with Fantic Motor that began in 2020 when the Veneto-based manufacturer returned to enduro racing. The JET Fantic Racing team consists of Harry Edmondson, Jed Etchells, and Jane Daniels, an all-Brit lineup with two current world champions.

Harry Edmondson is promoted to J1 after winning the 2022 world championship in the Youth class. The English rider took the title by resisting the final attacks of Cristino's other Fantic, setting up a hard-fought championship.

Jane Daniels is the women's world title defender, getting it by winning all eight races, leaving her competitor to pick up the crumbs.

Jed Etchells, also in J1, rounds out the JET Fantic Racing lineup. Last year he finished third and fifth overall, and for this new season, he intends to improve.

Jed Etchells | ING | J1 | XEF 250 | #47
Jane Daniels | ING | WMN | XEF 250 | #496

Franco Mayr, JET Fantic Racing Enduro team manager: "Harry, Jane, and Jed are three wonderful guys working very well. This year Harry is moving from 125 to 250. He may have to find confidence in racing with the new Fantic in the first races. On the other hand, Jed and Jane can rely on the confidence they already have gained with their own, but all three have great potential to take great satisfaction."
