What a masterclass ride from Aron Canet at the Thai GP in Buriram to secure his third Moto2 win, marking the Fantic Racing star’s seventh podium of the season and the 44th top-three finish in the World Championship career of #44.
Aron Canet’s exceptional form continues. At the Buriram Circuit, the Spaniard delivered an almost perfect weekend. Fastest on Friday and securing second in qualifying—just shy of pole position—Canet led a commanding race to claim his third Moto2 victory, all with Fantic Racing.
Starting from the front row, Canet took the lead within the first few corners and didn’t look back, demonstrating superior pace over his rivals. He managed his advantage comfortably, securing a dominant victory as rain in the final stages led to a red flag with one lap remaining.
With this result, Canet solidifies his second place in the riders’ standings, affirming his status as Ai Ogura’s main rival. Fantic Racing Moto2 extends heartfelt congratulations to Ogura, who clinched the title in Thailand.
Xavi Cardelus showed good progress over the weekend. After achieving his best qualifying result of the season in terms of gap to Q2, he maintained a steady race pace and finished in 20th position.
Aron Canet: “I am very happy with this victory. Today’s only goal was to win. I would have liked to battle Ogura until the final corner, and I congratulate him on his World Championship title. It wasn’t easy to manage the race given the weather conditions. I am in the best moment of my career; I feel I can challenge anyone on any track. In racing, you need speed but also consistency, and that is exactly what I have delivered since Silverstone. Thanks to the Fantic Racing Moto2 team for their incredible work.”
