The Fantic Racing MX team comes back in action at the GP of Latvia

The Kegums circuit hosts the eighth round of the MXGP and the fifth of the EMX125 and EMX250. Max Werner, Elias Escandell, Cas Valk and Alexis Fueri want to write their names in the history books of Motocenter Zelta Zirgs.

Kegums, June 2nd, 2023

The Motocross World Championship moves to the Baltic countries. The Kegum track, about 50 kilometres southeast of Riga, hosts the FIM Motocross World Championship. The spectacular Zelta Zirgs circuit is technical and has a sandy, compact surface.

The Latvian GP begins two consecutive European 125 and 250 races, where Fantic Racing riders shine. Following this event, the German GP will take place next weekend.

In EMX125, Maximilian Werner and Elias Escandell, with the Fantic XX 125, are third and fourth in the overall standings. Werner has proven to be among the protagonists of the category, being back from three consecutive podiums. On the other hand, Escandell, the current champion of Spain, will try to shorten his gap from the top of the championship.

The EMX250 returns after a four-week break, which Cas Valk and Alexis Fueri used for an intense training period ahead of the upcoming season's events. In Latvia, Cas Valk gets back on the Fantic XX 250 with good memories following his victory on this track last year.

This weekend, the Dutchman aims to repeat his excellent victory in the Spanish GP, where he dominated race 2 from the first to the last lap. Fueri also positively faces the weekend. The young Frenchman took advantage of the training time to further refine his feeling with the XX 250 to fight for top positions immediately in his rookie year in this category.

Tom Guyon will not be present at the starting gate of the MX2 World Championship. The Fantic Racing rider is forced to withdraw from participation due to his injury during the qualification race in his home grand prix in France two weeks ago. Together with the medical staff, it will be evaluated when the transalpine rider can resume competitive activities.

Marco Maddii (team manager of Fantic Racing MX): " We return to Latvia with delicious memories after the Cas victory last year, and we are confident to be among the protagonists again in both EMX125 and EMX250. The circuit is very technical, and I think it can help our riders. However, there is one small sore point: Max was the victim of a heavy crash in which he was run over by another rider during the DutchMasters last Monday. I hope he recovers quickly to celebrate under the podium again."
