Confirmed: Barry Baltus to join Fantic Racing Moto2

Fantic is delighted to announce the signing of Barry Baltus, as the 20-year-old Belgian will join Aron Canet in the official Moto2 team of the Italian brand in 2025.

Young yet experienced. At just 20 years old, Barry Baltus is set to enter his fifth season in the Moto2 World Championship in 2025. His performance has been on a steady rise, with an impressive podium finish in the 2024 season opener in Qatar showcasing his potential. After four seasons with the same team, he is ready to take the leap to Fantic, where he will have the opportunity to share the garage with this year’s Moto2 World Championship runner-up, Aron Canet.

Since entering the Grand Prix World Championship in 2023, Fantic has been on a steady upward trajectory. This season has firmly established the team, led by Project Manager Stefano Bedon and Team Manager Roberto Locatelli, among the regular frontrunners, with four wins and a total of nine podium finishes across two years. Canet’s second-place finish in the riders championship only heightens the team’s ambitions for the upcoming season.

Barry Baltus:

I am very happy to join Fantic Racing and I will proudly wear its colours! It is a top-level team, ambitious and whose project corresponds to what I wanted for my career. They are constantly fighting for the top positions and I am very motivated to work with them. Many thanks to Fantic, my management Zelos, but also to all the sponsors and fans who support us. Now that everything is clear about the future, we can put all our energy into the end of the 2024 season, before starting this new challenge!

Stefano Bedon, Fantic Racing Moto2 Project Manager:

We are pleased to welcome Barry Baltus to our project. After four years with the same team, where he already achieved a podium finish, it was the right time for him to seek new challenges. Having a teammate of Canet’s calibre will provide him with a valuable opportunity to further improve, and we are ready to support him fully in this journey.

Mariano Roman, Fantic Motor Vice President:

In only our second year in the Grand Prix World Championship, we have established our Fantic Racing Moto2 team among the frontrunners, with Aron Canet performing to his full potential, achieving three stunning victories, and holding second place in the riders’ standings. For 2025, we are excited to welcome a young talent like Barry Baltus to our family. In addition to the high technical level that the team has achieved during these first two years of development, at Fantic we are also committed to creating an environment where riders feel at home and can bring out their very best. Announcing this at EICMA is also special, as we present Fantics brand-new street range, inspired by our successes on racetracks across the globe.”

Freddy Tacheny, Zelos Founder President:

Barry Baltus is still very young but his apprenticeship is coming to an end, and he will start a new chapter in 2025. We are very happy that he will do it with Fantic Racing. This is a top and highly professional team, as illustrated by the results obtained since its creation in 2023. We are convinced that it will allow Barry to reach a new milestone in his quest for success. Thanks to all our partners and all the fans who accompany us in this great adventure. We are looking forward to 2025, but are also keen to finish 2024 in the best possible way.
