Pasquato wins in Spain and retains Youth championship lead

Riccardo Pasquato and the Fantic XE 125 once again on top in the Youth class: at the EnduroGP of Spain, the Fantic Factory Racing Enduro rider claimed a second place and another stunning win, retaining his lead in the provisional championship standings. Théo Espinasse recorded fifth- and sixth-place finishes in the E3 class.

The 2026 EnduroGP World Championship continues its journey and, three weeks after the opening round of the season in Italy, the Fantic Factory Racing Enduro riders lined up for round 2 in Oliana, Spain. A total course of 52 km determined the outcome of the race, featuring three special tests to be repeated three times per day, for a total of 18 special tests over the weekend, in addition to the SuperTest on Friday evening, held in front of a large crowd.

The track, designed by Moto Club Oliana in collaboration with Track Inspector Maurizio Micheluz, was set on hard and dusty terrain, at times made more challenging by rain showers over the two days. The course included, in order, a very fast 3 km Cross Test on hard and dusty ground, followed by a demanding 7.5 km Enduro Test in pure Spanish style, with rocks and stones, and finishing each lap with a natural 1.8 km Extreme Test.

Riccardo Pasquato continues to sit at the top of the Youth class after another outstanding weekend in Spain. On day 1, the 19-year-old Italian finished second with a strong performance, before delivering a near-perfect race on day 2 aboard his Fantic XE 125. Arriving at the final special test just a few hundredths behind the provisional leader, Pasquato stayed focused and determined, set the fastest time in his class, and took the win – his second of the season following the brilliant season opener in Sicily, confirming his impressive progress and strong form.

Coming off a double E3 podium at the Italian GP, Théo Espinasse was aiming for more aboard the Fantic XE 300 with Minarelli engine. His weekend in Spain began with a solid seventh overall in the opening SuperTest, but he crashed heavily in the first Enduro Test on the opening race day, with the costly mistake affecting his overall result. The Frenchman still managed to secure fifth- and sixth-place finishes in the E3 class across the two days, which puts him fourth in the provisional championship standings – only one point behind the third-placed E3 rider.

It was an unfortunate weekend for Thibault Giraudon: after finishing fourth in the Junior 2 class on the opening day, he lost the chance to fight for the top positions on Sunday when he struck a stone that damaged his rear sprocket, causing him to lose several minutes.

With the second round of the season completed, the FIM EnduroGP World Championship now turns its attention to the round 3, scheduled for 22–24 May in Finland.

Riccardo Pasquato:

“I am happy with my weekend here in Spain. I stayed focused and tried to avoid mistakes. That worked out just fine, with a second place and another great win. Our goal was to stay at the front and we managed to keep the lead in the Youth class, so I am very happy with what we have achieved so far. I would like to thank my Fantic Factory Racing Enduro team for the great job, and we will keep pushing as we look forward to the next round in Finland.”

Théo Espinasse:

“It wasn’t the positive weekend we had hoped for. Unfortunately, I had quite a big crash on Saturday that made things harder. I struggled a bit in the Enduro Test and wasn’t able to perform at my best. But we remain focused; we know we are working very well with the whole Fantic Factory Racing Enduro team and we will come back stronger for the next round.”

Thibault Giraudon:

“It was a difficult and rather complicated race weekend, where every small mistake cost several positions. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to step onto the podium this time around, but we will continue to work hard and go for it again in Finland.”
