Strong debut for Norrbin on the 310, Scardina dominates the 125

At the fourth round of the Assoluti d'Italia di Enduro, Albin Norrbin delivered an outstanding race on the Fantic XEF 310, securing third place in the Overall class. It was a heroic effort from Kevin Cristino, who stayed at the top of the championship standings in the Junior class despite his recent foot injury. Pietro Scardina also took the lead in the 125 class, thanks to an amazing double victory in Pistoia.

The weekend of 28-29 September 2024 turned Pistoia into the heart of Italian enduro racing, hosting the seventh and eighth rounds of the championship. After a thrilling prologue on Friday at the Extreme Test track, the riders competed on a challenging 45 km course designed by the Valdibure Motoclub and assisted by Track Inspector Mario Rinaldi. The course featured a 2 km Cross Test on hard ground with loose stones, a 2.5 km Extreme Test, and a 6 km Enduro Test through undergrowth, featuring rocky and slippery sections.

Albin Norrbin rode an incredible race with the new Fantic XEF 310. After finishing sixth overall on Saturday and fourth in the Foreigners class, he delivered an even stronger performance on Sunday, finishing third overall and in the Foreigners class.

Kevin Cristino, recently crowned J1 World Cup Champion, put in a remarkable performance, finishing third and second in the Junior class despite his injury. With one round to go, he remains the provisional leader of the Junior class. In the Foreigners class, Jed Etchells placed seventh and sixth, while Axel Semb, also riding the Fantic XEF 310, secured eighth and seventh.

Fantic Junior Racing Enduro’s Pietro Scardina took the lead in the 125 class with an outstanding double victory in Pistoia. Valentino Corsi, returning to the Italian Championship after his injury, finished fifth in both races.

With the penultimate round of the 2024 season complete, the Italian Enduro series will now take a one-month break before returning for the final round in Sanremo on 26-27 October.

Albin Norrbin:

“It was a fantastic weekend. We showed up in Pistoia with the new Fantic XEF 310, and I immediately felt comfortable. On Sunday, I earned my first podium at the Assoluti, finishing third overall, and I am very happy about it.”

Kevin Cristino:

“I didn't walk in the days leading up to Pistoia because of my fractured foot, as I still have trouble putting weight on it. We decided to try the new Fantic XE 300 with the Minarelli engine, and it was a lot of fun – it helped me in several situations. In Sanremo, we will give it our all to win the Junior title.”

Pietro Scardina:

“I am very happy with the double win here in Pistoia and taking the provisional lead in the 125 class. In Sanremo, it will be crucial not to make mistakes, and we try our best to win the title.”
