An incredible final showdown at the EnduroGP of France saw Kevin Cristino and his Fantic XEF 250 crowned champions, clinching the J1 title on day two in Brioude through a display of grit and determination. In the Youth class, Pietro Scardina dominated both race days, finishing the season as the runner-up in the championship.
Over the weekend of 14-15 September, the 2024 FIM EnduroGP World Championship came to a thrilling conclusion in France, with the final round taking place in Brioude, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Organized meticulously by the Motoclub Brioude and overseen by Track Inspector Maurizio Micheluz, the event featured a technical and demanding course, designed in line with the classic French enduro tradition, combining technical challenges with spectacular scenery.
The weekend’s action kicked off on Friday, 13 September, with the much-anticipated Super Test, which drew a large crowd of enthusiastic fans, officially marking the beginning of the final showdown of the 2024 EnduroGP season.
The French GP course tested riders over 75km of high-level trials, beginning each day with a 5.4km Cross Test through a traditional French meadow and forest undergrowth. This was followed by a long, demanding 6.8km Enduro Test through soft, root-laden forest terrain. Each lap ended with the Extreme Special Test, a 1.8km course that combined natural obstacles with short, artificial sections, pushing competitors to their limits.
At the end of an incredible weekend of racing, Kevin Cristino was crowned the new Junior1 champion. Entering the final round in France in third place in the provisional standings, the Italian rider secured third place on Saturday, despite picking up a foot injury halfway through the day. Digging deep on Sunday, Cristino delivered a stellar performance on the Fantic XEF 250, winning day 2 and marking his fifth J1 victory of the season. With previous wins in Valpaços and Fafe in Portugal, along with a double win in Romania, this latest triumph allowed him to clinch the title by a single point over his closest rival. In the overall Junior class, Cristino also notched remarkable fourth and second-place finishes.
His teammate Axel Semb, aboard the new Fantic XEF 310, secured a solid third place on the opening day and followed it up with a seventh-place finish on Sunday in the Junior2 class.
Meanwhile, Jed Etchells delivered a consistent performance at the French GP, claiming two strong fifth-place finishes in the highly competitive E2 class, also riding the new Fantic XEF 310. In the E3 class, Albin Norrbin had a challenging weekend, finishing ninth on Saturday and improving to seventh on Sunday.
It was a memorable weekend on French soil for Fantic Junior Racing Enduro, with Pietro Scardina securing his first victories in the championship. The Italian rider, aboard his Fantic XE 125, dominated the Youth class on both days. Riccardo Pasquato delivered solid performances, finishing seventh and eleventh, while Valentino Corsi made his long-awaited return to competition after an injury at the start of the season. Corsi marked his comeback with a tenth and 14th-place finish across the two days.

“What an incredible weekend. I fought with everything I had to win this title, which seemed almost lost – and I managed to pull it off. Unfortunately, I injured my foot on Saturday, but we never gave up. It was a tough day, but we avoided mistakes and in the end, we made it happen. I was in third place going into the final round, and I won the championship by just one point. I want to thank everyone who supported me and contributed to this success – my mechanic, my entire team, Fantic, the sponsors, my family, and everyone who came to cheer for me here in France. I am extremely happy, and now I want to finish the season strong at the Assoluti.”

Nel weekend del 14 e 15 settembre, il Campionato del Mondo FIM EnduroGP 2024 ha vissuto il suo atto finale in Francia, con l’ultima tappa disputata nella cittadina di Brioude, nella regione dell'Alvernia-Rodano-Alpi. La gara, curata nei minimi dettagli dal Motoclub Brioude e dal Track Inspector Maurizio Micheluz, prevedeva un percorso di gara tanto spettacolare quanto tecnico ed impegnativo della lunghezza totale di 75 km, disegnato secondo i classici canoni della tradizione enduristica francese.
Il weekend di gara in terra francese ha preso il via con l'attesissimo Super Test, tenutosi venerdì 13 Settembre, che ha dato ufficialmente il via al weekend conclusivo della stagione 2024 EnduroGP, attirando un folto pubblico di appassionati che ha seguito con entusiasmo l’evento.
ll GP francese ha visto i piloti misurarsi con un percorso di gara di 75 km caratterizzato da prove di alto livello. Ad aprire entrambe le giornate di gara è stato il Cross Test lungo 5,4 km, dislocato su un classico pratone francese e all’interno di un sottobosco; seguito da un lungo e tecnico Enduro Test tanto spettacolare quanto insidioso all'interno di un bosco con terreno morbido misto a radici per un totale di 6,8 km; per poi concludere con la prova speciale Estrema prevalentemente naturale con alcuni brevi tratti artificiali della lunghezza totale di 1,8 km.
Al termine di un weekend spettacolare, Kevin Cristino è il nuovo campione della classe Junior1. Arrivato in Francia in terza posizione nella classifica provvisoria, il pilota italiano in sella alla Fantic XEF 250 ha conquistato il terzo posto nella giornata di sabato, nonostante un infortunio al piede patito nel corso del secondo giro. Ha stretto i denti anche domenica e ha corso una gara incredibile, andando a vincere nel Day 2. Con la sua quinta vittoria di giornata (dopo i successi di Valpacos e Fafe in Portogallo e la doppietta in Romania) è riuscito a conquistare il titolo per un solo punto di distanza dal suo diretto avversario. Nella classe Junior Cristino ha totalizzato un quarto e un secondo posto.
Il suo compagno di squadra impegnato nella classe Junior2, Axel Semb, in sella alla nuova Fantic XEF 310 ha conquistato un terzo posto nella giornata di apertura e un settimo posto domenica.
Jed Etchells ha corso una gara solida al GP di Francia. Il pilota inglese, in sella alla nuova Fantic XEF 310, ha raccolto due ottimi quinti posti nella combattuta classe E2. Nella classe E3 Albin Norrbin ha concluso al nono posto nella giornata di gara di apertura e al settimo posto nella giornata di domenica.
In terra francese Pietro Scardina, pilota del Fantic Junior Racing Enduro, ha vinto entrambe le giornate di gara da dominatore nella classe Youth. Un weekend perfetto che ha portato il giovane pilota italiano al secondo posto nella classifica di campionato. Riccardo Pasquato ha totalizzato invece un settimo e un undicesimo posto. È tornato in gara anche Valentino Corsi, dopo un lungo periodo di stop a causa di un infortunio rimediato ad inizio stagione, lo score per lui è un decimo e un quattordicesimo posto alla fine del weekend francese.

“Un weekend incredibile. Ho lottato con tutte le mie forze per poter vincere questo titolo che sembrava oramai perso – e sono riuscito nell’impresa. Purtroppo sabato mi sono infortunato a un piede ma non abbiamo mai mollato. È stata una giornata dura ma siamo riusciti ad evitare errori e alla fine ce l’abbiamo fatta. Arrivavo in terza posizione e sono riuscito a vincere il campionato per un punto. Vorrei ringraziare tutte le persone che mi hanno supportato e hanno contribuito a questo successo, il mio meccanico e tutto il mio team, tutta la Fantic, gli sponsor, la mia famiglia e anche tutti quelli che sono venuti qui in Francia a tifare. Sono estremamente felice e ora voglio concludere al meglio la stagione agli Assoluti.”
