Pure dominance! Canet and Fantic victorious at Indonesian GP

At the Mandalika International Circuit, Aron Canet completed a weekend of absolute success by winning the fastest lap ever, Pole, Fastest lap in race and Victory.

At the Indonesia GP, the Spanish rider of the Fantic Racing Moto2 Team showed immediately a greater speed compared to his opponents. From the very first laps he set his pace and started a solitary run, increasing the advantage lap after lap. From the middle of the race onwards he managed the margin, continuing to score qualifying times, which led him to cross the finish line with more than 6 seconds advantage. It was a masterful race, FANTastIC performance without the slightest smudge up to the checkered flag.

Canet has been able to concretize the enormous potential showed in last races, thanks to the optimal feeling he has found on his bike thanks to the teamwork.

This is the third consecutive podium for the Fantic Racing Moto2 Team, which projects Canet to third place in the World Championship only 52 points behind from the first. With 5 races to be played and seeing his form is allowed to dream but keeping the feet on the ground and looking immediately at the next race. In just 7 days the World Championship will be on track in Japan, in the historic circuit of Motegi.

For Xavi Cardelus it was an unlucky Sunday. A crash in the sighting lap compromised his start and although he still managed to begin, his race ended shortly after. The good pace shown during the practice and qualifying increases the regret for the race result but gives confidence for next weekend in Japan.

Aron Canet"I’m very happy about this win, we had a great weekend. I felt good from the start and knew I could win. In the race I checked my laptimes to manage the lead until the finish. I want to thank my team and all the people of Fantic for the great work. We are now a little closer to the top of the World Championship, but we have to keep working and getting more points in the next races."

Xavi Cardelus: "I’m sorry, it’s a Sunday to forget. Still I don’t understand how the fall happened in the sighting lap because I was going slow. I wanted to show in the race the good feelings we had in qualifying. Now we have to reset and think immediately about the next weekend."

Roberto Locatelli: “A great race for Fantic. Aron put the icing on a perfect weekend. He was fast from the first session on Friday and built up the perfect harmony between bike and rider. He showed the same in England, where we were coming from a challenging period. We are continuously learning from each other to help him manage his enormous potential. As Team Manager, it is a great pleasure, but from midnight we reset everything because we need to prepare even better for Japan. For Xavi, the race was compromised by an unfortunate fall on the formation lap.
