Aron Canet was declared “fit” for the upcoming French GP at the medical check on Thursday and is excited to return on track alongside his Fantic Racing Moto2 teammate Xavi Cardelus for round 5 of the 2024 Moto2 World Championship.
After a strong start to the season including his maiden Moto2 win in Portugal, Aron Canet was forced to sit out the race weekend in Jerez due to a peroneal malleolus fracture in his left foot. The Spaniard underwent successful surgery in Barcelona 12 days ago and has since then worked tirelessly towards his comeback. The medical check-up at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans on Thursday confirmed he is “fit to race” the French GP.
Alongside Canet, Xavi Cardelus is eager to make further progress after having gone close to the points with his personal best result of the season last time out in Jerez.
Fantic Racing Moto2 will race at the French GP with FIAMM as main sponsor. FIAMM Energy Technology is a multinational company engaged in the production and distribution of batteries and accumulators for motor vehicles and for industrial use. To be closer to the needs of customers, FIAMM Energy Technology has numerous sales and technical offices (in Italy, Germany, UK, Slovakia, France, Spain, Singapore, China to name a few) and a widespread network of importers and distributors.
Aron Canet: "I'm happy to be back, it will be a different weekend after the injury at Jerez. I know how to manage the pain, with my team we'll try to find a setting that can help me on the bike. For sure we are here to fight and to do a great race on Sunday."
Xavi Cardelus: “I’m highly motivated after the good weekend at Jerez, I want to get on the bike as soon as possible. We have to keep working in the same way and do our best.”
