Junior GP: Double victory and championship lead for Fantic Cardoso Racing in Portimão

Roberto Garcia won both races in Portugal and is now the leader of the European Moto2 Championship by 18 points, with three rounds to go.

At the same track where Aron Canet won in the Moto2 World Championship, the Andalusian rider dominated the JuniorGP weekend, also taking the Pole Position.

Roberto García: "It was a very nice weekend. We were really looking forward to coming here because we knew we could do very well, and that's what we did. All weekend long we have worked very well and this, in addition to the good results, makes me want to keep on working. Thanks to these two victories we are now in the lead and I would like to thank all my team and my family for their support”.

José Luis Cardoso - Team Manager: "The weekend has been perfect for Roberto, we are very happy with his two victories and the pole position. He has also taken the championship lead, he is becoming very mature, so we have to congratulate him for the great job he has been doing all season long. Unfortunately, we couldn't share the joy with Francesco Mongiardo, who suffered from the pain in his knee and crashed. We have to keep working, he has talent and we know he can make it to the front. Filip Rehácek also had a crash, unfortunately caused by another rider. The positive thing is that he escaped any injury. Now it's time to think about Jerez and to thank as always the whole team for their work and the sponsors, especially Fantic, for this opportunity".
