Albin Norrbin Crowned World Youth Champion

Santiago do Cacem, a small village a few kilometres from Lisbon, hosted the fifth round of the 2021 Enduro World Championship, replacing the GP of Germany that was scheduled at the beginning of the season but cancelled due to organizational problems related to the Covid-19 pandemic. On Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th October the Terra Unica GP of Portugal took place and Fantic riders were the absolute protagonists as usual.

Fantic concludes the Portuguese trip celebrating the first world title in the enduro in the Youth category, of the new management, with the Swedish rider Albin Norrbin.

Positive week-end also for Davide Guarneri, that in the Portuguese sand has raced a very good race getting always on the podium in the E1 class and remaining always in contention for the final world title.

A challenging race that was organized in a masterly way by the Motoclub Vila Nova that saw our riders compete in a sandy, very soft and fine terrain, almost identical in all three special tests: Cross Test, Enduro Test and Extreme Test.

In the Youth category, D'Arpa Racing's Fantic rider Albin Norrbin had another fantastic week-end and became the Youth World Champion. The Swedish rider collected two victories of the day showing all his determination, his incredible shape and feeling with the bike. Albin Norrbin's team-mate Kevin Cristino was the only rider to challenge the leader of the Youth class with two excellent second positions. Harry Edmondson of the Fantic JET Racing team was not able to shine over the Portuguese week-end.

Davide Guarneri, Fantic Factory Team E/50 Racing, rode an incredible race giving to Fantic colours two more podiums in the E1 class. In the Enduro1 class the former motocross rider collected two second positions in a very fast race, touching the podium in the Enduro GP in the final day. Davide Guarneri with this umpteenth positive result remains in second place in the E1 class ready to play for the title in France next week-end.

After the good performance and the podiums at the GP of Estonia and Sweden, Jed Etchell, Fantic D'Arpa Racing, was not able to repeat himself in the Junior 1 class collecting only two fourth places.

The GP of Portugal is over and now the Enduro Circus will move to France where the final act of this 2021 season will take place next week-end.

 ----

DAVIDE GUARNERI: "A very fast race, cross-country style and not at all technical and enduristic. The final score is good even if I would have preferred to win at least one day of the race. The 2021 E1 title will be decided in France. May the best man win”.

RICCARDO FABRIS: "A very complicated GP. I was never able to get a good rhythm in the sand".

ALBIN NORRBIN: "Another perfect weekend, at the end of which I became world champion. Many thanks to the whole team and to Fantic for the opportunity".

HARRY EDMONDSON: "I am not satisfied with my results, personally I like to ride in the sand but here in Portugal I never found the right rhythm".

KEVIN CRISTINO: "I'm satisfied with the results obtained in this Portuguese round and especially on Saturday I came close to winning. Now maximum concentration for the French GP, the last race of the season".
