Fantic Factory Racing MX2’s Alexis Fueri delivered a strong performance at the Motocross of European Nations in Romania, going 2-1 in his races to help Team France secure the silver medal.
Alexis Fueri was called to represent his country at the 2024 Motocross of European Nations, held at the TCS Racing Park near Bucharest, Romania. Running the number one plate on his Fantic XXF 250, the 19-year-old Frenchman rose to the occasion.
Fueri won the 125/250cc qualifying heat on Saturday and grabbed the holeshot twice in the all-important motos on Sunday. After finishing second in race 1, he led from start to finish in race 2 to claim the 250cc individual win. His strong 2-1 score helped France clinch the silver medal, just 3 points behind the victorious Italian team.
Alexis Fueri:
“The weekend started off well on Saturday, even though the schedule was unusual, with a single practice session before the qualifying heat. I battled all race long and found a solution to win at the last corner of the last lap. That was a good one! On Sunday, race 1 was quite okay, but I struggled a bit with arm pump and finished second. In race 2, I got another holeshot and finally managed to ride the way I know I can. It was still tough, because it had been a while since I was riding in front, and it felt really good to pull off a win. Overall, it was an encouraging weekend; the bike was perfect, and I had good starts. The atmosphere was also great at the event; it was just something different, and it is always special to race for your country. The French team narrowly missed out on the win, but we did our best, and I think we can be happy!”
