Fantic Racing enduro riders take up the challenge at the GP of Slovakia

After their successful trip to Scandinavia, the Fantic Racing enduro riders arrive in Slovakia to confirm their world leadership at the 5th round of the EnduroGP World Championship.

Gelnica, June 29, 2023

The EnduroGP World Championship is coming back this weekend. Fantic Racing riders arrive in Gelnica as world leaders in five of the seven classes where they are present.

The Fantic Racing team, managed by Simone Albergoni, arrives in Slovakia with two riders leading their respective classes. Albin Norrbin is stronger than ever after the excellent performance in his home GP. The 22-year-old Swedish, with his Fantic XE 300, is leading the Junior 2 class, where he has won more than half of the special races until now.
In the Youth class, Kevin Cristino, riding the Fantic XE 125, is having an outstanding season collecting an impressive record of eight consecutive wins, giving no chances to his rivals.
Lorenzo Macoritto, in the E3 class, and Valentino Corsi, in the Youth, complete the Fantic Racing team, aiming to be among the protagonists in the Slovakian round.

Franco Mayr's JET Fantic Racing team, with Fantic XEF 250s, lines up Jed Etchells and Harry Edmondson.
Jed Etchells leads both the Junior Overall class and Junior 1 world standings, getting six wins out of eight in J1 and two-second places. The young British rider aims to confirm his leadership in both standings and consolidate the gap from his rivals.
His teammate Harry Edmondson continues his debut season, feeling increasingly comfortable on his Fantic 4T in the Junior class.
Holidays have already started for the women's class. Jane Daniels, the reigning champion and current leader in the world standings, will return for the final round of the season in Portugal on the weekend of Oct. 6-8.

Simone Albergoni (Fantic Racing Enduro team manager): "We are in a crucial phase of the championship; every single point can be precious for the final victory, especially for Kevin Cristino. I hope he can keep lucid awareness in this delicate phase.
Albin Norrbin is expected to confirm the magnificent performance achieved in Sweden. In Slovakia, unlike Kevin, he has to fight meter by meter to recover the points lost at the beginning of the championship. But I am convinced that Albin can do it, considering his excellent physical and mental condition.
Valentino is also continuing his growth, and I am sorry for the injury he suffered in the middle of the championship because he lost several positions in the standings.
Lorenzo Macoritto showed clear signs of recovery in the last round of the Assoluti d’Italia, and I hope he can repeat himself in this round of the World Championship.
Gianluca Facchetti will not participate in the race because he is not 100% due to his radius fracture."

Franco Mayr (team manager JET Fantic Racing Enduro): "We face this test with the usual preparation and determination; the team is ready.
We are confident that Jed Etchells can bring his Fantic XEF 250 to the highest step of the podium again and confirm his leadership in the Junior.
The race will have quite different characteristics compared to the last world championship rounds, as it will be much more technical. These characteristics are appreciated by both Jed Etchells and Harry Edmondson. This last has to prove that he deserves the podium as in the Finnish round.
A wet race is expected, and if so, the difficulties will be even more challenging.”
